Chalk Paint and Lace

Today I want to show you a little table re-do I recently finished.
Here's what it started off as:
First I painted it with a chalk paint made from 1 cup flat paint and one tablespoon
Plaster of Paris (found at Home Depot).

I love chalk paint for several reasons:
1. You don't have to prime or sand beforehand unless there's dents or scratches you don't want showing through. It's thick consistency will usually hide small marks. 2. If you're an impatient person when it comes to waiting for the paint to dry to apply your next coat, chalk paint was made for you! It dries very quickly, cutting your work time in half. 3. You can change it's consistency by adding water to thin it out and can even create a washed look.

This little table was the perfect piece to try this idea I found on Pinterest.
I laid a lace curtain on the table and positioned the pattern the way I wanted.
Then cut off the excess and taped the fabric underneath.
Using Krylon Dual, I painted evenly over the lace.
After waiting for it to dry, I removed the lace very slowly...
And voila!

What do you think?

Thank you so much for stopping in today!
