They're Coasterific!

These shimmery coasters are so much fun and easy to make! All you'll need are these supplies:

Saucers, Paint, Sponge Brush, Sisal, and Hot Glue Gun

I painted the saucers Americana's PISTACHIO MINT and SEA BREEZE. Once they dried, I brushed on a layer of Martha Stewart's Multi Surface PEARL Acrylic Paint. To make the center I used hot glue and wrapped the sisal around gluing as I went.

Once you're done, hot glue it to the saucer.

I love their pearly shimmer. =)

  1. Holly, I really like these! Not to be picky, but have you had these around long enough to see if the rope mildews or starts turning black?

    1. You know, I sure haven't and I never thought about that. Will certainly let you know if that happens though.=)

  2. If you got little mildew I would imagine a quick spray of just a tiny bit of Clorax to a lot of water sprayed on..let sit a short time then rinsed. Pat dry. Next putting the saucer in the sun to dry would do the trick. Even making sure they get a dry out between uses alone would help. I think they are beautiful and hope to make some for gifts!! Thanks oh so much for this idea! Sarah
